authors worldwide! Prepare yourselves for hurricanes, blizzards, and… press releases? FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: There is a little Miss Cleo in all of us, and because of that we have the ability to prepare for what we already know will happen. We know that there will be a hurricane threat this summer. This winter we can predict a blizzard. And guess what? I’m seeing an election coming near the end of 2008 that will bring forth a new President for the USA.
LLUMINA AUTHOR FINALIST IN 2005 INDEPENDENT PUBLISHER AWARDS FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: Llumina Press is proud to announce that Gerald A. Strand has been selected as a finalist in the 2005 IP Awards for his military fiction book, The Red Caduceus. The "IPPY"Awards are designed to bring increased recognition to the deserving, but often unsung, titles published by independent authors and publishers. TRAIL TO TRANQUILITY IS THE CURE FOR STRESS! FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: Stress is a killer. We all know this; it’s been drummed into us for years – Type A Personality Versus The World. Stress has become so prevalent and significant in all reaches of society that this week a British Member of Parliament, often considered the most taciturn and stiff-upper-lipped people in the world, admitted to suffering under the pressure and has gone on “Stress Leave.” It’s a shame he hasn’t read The Trail to Tranquility, a self-help masterpiece by “Rabbi Rambo” Lazer Brody, on dealing with the demands of the world. New Political Theory Stuns Academics: Harmonic Federalism and Fractal Constitutions at center of heated debate FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: Rarely does a book shake the academic world. The release of America on Trial surely has. Using a clever format, its author, M. C. Williams, an attorney turned philosopher, posits stunning new political maxims and weaves them into a breathtaking political theory of "fractal harmonic federalism." IN ANNA'S TRINITY
FORT LAUDERDALE,
AUGUST 2005: VOICE OF A GENERATION MUTED BY ITS OWN INSECURITY FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: Self-proclaimed “existential punk-rock goddess with a heart of soul,” Annamaria Scaccia’s belts out her poetry in a powerful and insightful voice that belies her youth. Born in the back roads of Brooklyn, New York, Scaccia’s poems have a distinctive Brooklyn accent tinged with the dialect of disenfranchised youth. A talented goddess, she is a staff writer to the Brooklyn College Kingsman. Her work has appeared on www.fictionpress.com, www.poetry.com, as well as in the short-lived music-zine, PicPockit, which Scaccia founded in 2002. Scaccia also paints expressionistic, post-impressionist rock star portraits and nudes. Her free time is spent contemplating the battle between logic and desire and writing it down in her Moleskin notebook. HOMBRECITO’S WAR STILL RAGES! FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: As
amazing as it seems in these days of cellular phones, Global
Positioning Systems, and the brand-new sub-dermal PLDs (Personal
Location Device), the unforgiving deserts of the world are still
claiming victims. The search for a missing man in the Mojave Desert,
near Daggett, California, was sadly called off on June 7, 2005,
after many days of intensive air and land searches failed to locate
him. In the late 1800’s there were no helicopters to call on, no
ATVs to employ, and no PLD to track, only the sharp eyes of expert
trackers and the experience of men who knew the land. Everyone has heard there is a Heaven, but few know what's going on there FORT LAUDERDALE,
AUGUST 2005: Everyone has heard
there is a Heaven, but who knows what goes on there?
Heavenly Interviews has the scoop!
Exclusive interviews with three of Heaven's upper-echelon residents will
give you a glimpse into that divine destination.
Revelations include what is offered for The Faithful, those lucky souls
who have been admitted through those Pearly portals. Treasured Flashbacks Captured for Posterity in Print FORT LAUDERDALE, AUGUST 2005: Robert Bongardt had decided to put his memories down on paper for his children, grandchildren, and friends. The result, Flashbacks of Youth, began with Bongardt’s brilliant capture of his growing up days in Baltimore in the thirties and forties. A FAMILY THAT DIVES TOGETHER, THRIVES TOGETHER Fort Lauderdale, AUGUST 2005: In these days of fragmented families, author Edwin English did something to cement his brood together. He took up scuba diving! English, father, author, businessman, was watching a documentary about scuba diving with his family. Mentioning that he’d always wanted to try diving, English’s children expressed their interest in doing it with him. Thus, a new family hobby—and his book, Scuba diving: A Newcomer’s Point of View— evolved!
