FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A Letter from Mom

Fort Lauderdale, December 2006:  Being a divorced parent is very difficult, even in this modern do-what-you-want world. Imagine how things were many years ago when divorce was a stigma, no matter the reason it came about. The emotional and financial consequences of such complicated events often changes innocent  lives significantly. A Letter from Mom proves the theory as it presents Mimi's poignant story.

A Letter from Mom was written by the author to her son and daughter. It is a touching, inspiring, sad, and heart-warming missive addressing the needs of adopted children and adoptive parents. It explores the feelings most birth-mothers experience, and attempts to explain to the child she gave up how letting go was the hardest thing she ever did. Though she thought her child would have a better life without her, this sacrifice was the source of lifelong pain and sorrow.

About the Author:

Mimi Thelma James was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri on February 21, 1912.  She died in St. Petersburg, Florida on January 30, 1995.  She had two children, a son and a daughter. She instilled in her daughter a keen sense of honesty, and made an unconditional sacrifice so that her son could have a better life.
