FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Misery Loves Company

Fort Lauderdale, March 2010:

An intelligent ghost story is the way first time author, Lawrence Edwards, likes to refer to his premier novel, but it could just as easily be thought of as a psychological thriller. It’s a macabre tale of an army of murderous corpses who’ve declared war on the living. To do this, they’ve managed to secretly infiltrate the human race by posing as their former selves for the purpose of recruiting more and more new followers. Unfortunately, for these unsuspecting victims, it means suffering one of the most feared fates imaginable…Here’s a hint: Remember the story of the Pied Piper? Well, this time, it’s a hell of a lot more perverse and infinitely more deadly.

In June 2000, Setsuko Takahashi, a successful, attractive, single Japanese woman, plans a special dinner at a very exclusive restaurant to announce her pregnancy to the unsuspecting father of her baby. Not surprisingly, the meeting does not go well. Later that evening, Setsuko does the unthinkable and drowns herself in the ocean, taking her unborn child with her.

Seven years later, a captain with the Seattle fire department leaves his twenty year reunion early and is never seen again. The next night, a prominent, gay, black defense attorney mysteriously disappears after leaving a popular nightspot. They are certainly not the first to vanish without a trace, and they will hardly be the last.

In fact, these incidents have become quite common along the Southern California coast, and it's really got the police stymied, because no clues are ever left behind. Now, their only hope of solving these cases rests on questionable contributions from some very unlikely volunteers. They are about to find a whole new meaning to the saying: misery loves company.

Lawrence R. Edwards is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and a Vietnam veteran. His specialties were in the law enforcement and industrial security arenas. After leaving the military, he was able to use his experience and training working for a major defense contractor and a luxury hotel. Up until then, the majority of his writing experience was through the publication of several professional pamphlets and editorials. For the past seventeen years, Larry has been working in the health care industry—mostly in sales and marketing.
