EXAMINING AMERICA'S CONTROVERSIES

FORT LAUDERDALE, FEBRUARY 2006:  Sometimes, to see things clearly, you must step away. It is easier to discern the larger picture if you're not right up against the screen.  So it is for author, Ksenija Arsic. While living and studying in Canada, Ksenija's research has helped her to recognize problems in our world's politics. For now, however, she has focused on America….

America's Controversies is a collection of the author’s research papers written while pursuing her master’s degree in political science, which only added to her already successful career as a journalist, researcher, and writer. The papers cover a variety of issues regarding American politics, addressing such topics as the death penalty, a seeming anachronism in the most developed, civilized, and democratic society in the world; American international policy and U.S. influence in promoting democracy in Latin America, in particular Nicaragua; and the legacy of one of the most intriguing and controversial of American presidents—Bill Clinton.

About the Author:

Ksenija Arsic was born in Smederevo, Serbia, in 1961.  She holds a master’s degree in political science with a specialization in American politics from the University of Guelph in Canada, and received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Belgrade in Serbia.  While living in Serbia, she worked as a radio journalist for Radio Smederevo, covering, writing, and producing a variety of assignments on special topics. Arsic presently lives with her family in Guelph.
