Local Authors to
hold Signing Event
"First Time Published" Authors Showcased
(Warwick, Rhode Island, USA) Seventeen
“first time published”
Rhode Island authors including Dr. Billy Johnson will
be appearing with award winning movie director/producer and publisher
Jonathan Raben at one big signing event on Friday Evening,
October
19th
in
Warwick, RI.
This unique event for
local published authors from throughout
Rhode Island has been promoted by the authors
themselves these past few weeks to get a possible step up in the local
artists’ community and even the broader publishing world.
“This is more than
just signing and selling some books,” declared Melissa Chiavaroli, Community
Relations Manager for event sponsor Barnes & Noble in
Warwick . “We are shining our spotlight
on local talent whose first time published works might go unnoticed.
A book signing event on this scale gives each author a unique
opportunity to invite prospective publishers, agents, publicists, movie
producers and even friends or relatives and make them aware of their
achievement and their potential for future works.”
”People who may
have thought about writing a book or making a movie can benefit from talking
to and learning from these published authors who have made their first big
step.” Chiavaroli said. “These authors/artists recently made
it into publication or film, and can easily remember and relate the pitfalls
of getting to that first plateau. Where else can you get this
kind of personal first-hand and up-to-date information?”
“For example, Jonathan
Raben’s film Italian Americans and Federal Hill and book has been
very successful locally,” Chiavaroli said. “He will be here to
discuss the making of his movie and also his plans for yet another!
He’ll also be giving away movie posters and signing some as well.
Those attending can benefit from his experience.”
Local first-time
published authors who will be signing books, answering questions and
promoting general discussion include Rhonda Alarie, Jeanne Archambeault,
Henry D. Astarjian M.D., Ed Beard, Marc Blevins, Joan Creamer, Jeanne Dumas,
Israel Helms, Dr. Billy Johnson, Horst Maurer, Barbara
Morrison, Eva Pasco, Mike Pescione, Les Rolston, Ken Ryan Sr., Dee Dee
Serpas, & CJ West. Their works range from mystery and romance
to health and current affairs.
The event will be held
at Barnes & Noble Booksellers,
1350B Bald Hill Road in Warwick , Rhode Island on
Friday, October 19th from 7pm to 9pm . Admission is
free.
