Who am I?

Sometimes I wonder who I am

And what is left of me

Just bits and pieces someone said

Of what you used to be

It’s been a strange trip I admit

This journey I have made

Too many bridges burned behind

Mistakes that I have made

I’ve seen the darker side of man

That too often we display

But more than that I’ve seen how love

Can heal the harshest day

I’ve seen a lot of knocking down

But more of lifting up

Have you not known the wonder?

Found inside the loving cup

I drink from it as often

As it’s offered on my way

The other cup is bitter

And that’s all I have to say
